Established in 1995, our approach is to offer biotechnology companies a boutique-style, flexible and adaptable search model which may be tailored easily to our mutual benefit. Whether partially-retained or exclusive contingency, our fees are customized to your particular needs to enable to quickly complete challenging niche-oriented, specialized management roles exclusively for biotechnology companies. From private/pre-IPO start-up companies and incubators to established/profitable, publicly-traded companies, our clients have chosen to partner with us because of our unique ability to find people who make a genuine difference in organizational performance.

We only accept those search assignments which we are confident we will complete successfully. Recognizing that each biotechnology company is different, our philosophy is to custom-tailor our approach to the specifications of each different assignment. For this reason, we offer a variety of flexible fee arrangements, including partially retained search, exclusive contingency search, or retained search. At SRA-Boston South Shore, we have extensive experience with each one of these fee structures.

Our search assignments vary from Director to Senior Director and Vice President up to C-Suite positions. Often the role is newly-created and the job title is flexible, depending on the top candidate’s experience and compensation-level, because acquiring specialized talent is the highest priority. Base annual compensation for the searches we accepted has increased rapidly as expected, ranging from $150,000 to $350,000+ in base compensation, plus bonuses and additional equity pay.

PARTIALLY RETAINED SEARCH – represents the same exclusivity employed in a fully-retained search, but we do not bill the majority of the fee until the search is successfully completed. The partially retained search model is our preferred working arrangement and generally involves one advanced retainer payment or similar engagement fee to inititate the search. Our partially retained search process delivers outstanding candidates while offering our clients potential savings in fees.

EXCLUSIVE SEARCHES – represent searches where we are assured of exclusivity but for which there is no guaranteed payment. Under this arrangement, our clients receive near-retained search service in exchange for your commitment, consistent communication and feedback.

FULLY RETAINED SEARCH – represents a full-scale commitment by our firm to conduct and complete your search on an urgent basis, with all of our resources fully employed. This model provides additional services beyond those of a Partially-Retained. We may personally interview all applicable parties within the organization, including internal candidates. In this capacity, we operate exclusively and confidentially on behalf of the client.
