Healthcare organizations employ succession planning strategies to groom and retain knowledgeable staff members for future positions that become available when someone retires or moves on to another opportunity. Experts agree that when organizations follow a succession plan, they will be better prepared to focus on the main universal initiative: providing quality care to patients.
