Plano, TX 3/26/2017
There are two very important reasons why LinkedIn profile should be “Candidate Friendly”
- The unemployment rate is now the lowest it has been in a number of years and good candidates are getting harder to find and hire – and you don’t want to chase them away with a “scary” profile.
- One of the leading reasons an employee leaves a company is due to some issue with his/her immediate supervisor, generally when the employee no longer respects them. That lack of respect can be real or imagined, can result from being passed over for a promotion, perceived as being treated unfairly or any host of other reasons. You don’t want to appear like the supervisor s/he is trying to escape.
The best advice regarding your LinkedIn profile is – Don’t make it look like the candidate’s current supervisor! You know, a picture that looks like Shrek, or with a pained look on your face, or verbiage that implies it’s all about you, never about the employee, or is self-promoting, appears to be the type of manager who won’t look you in the eye – if this reminds you of your profile on LinkedIn, read the rest of this article – Please!!
