College graduation season is upon us, and this year it appears that college seniors are entering into a slightly brighter job market than the class before them. A recent survey from the National Association of Colleges and Employers reports that employers anticipate they’ll hire 13% more job candidates from this year’s graduating class than they did last spring from the class of 2012.
“I always ask them open ended questions,” says Paul Feeney, Managing Director at Sanford Rose Associates. “For example, why they chose certain summer internships to work at and what were they looking to achieve from that in the end. Since many of these people are only 22 years old, they are not going to have their career aspirations spelled out specifically so you really need to see where they are at.”
