The first time the number of women in the paid workforce topped 50 percent was in early 2010 in the aftermath of the Great Recession.<\/p>\n<p>The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistic\u2019s Employment Situation for December 2019 reported that total nonfarm payroll employment rose by 145,000.
